Your room

Our Carr Mills student accommodation complex is home to 301 students, sharing 5, 6 and 7-bed flats over 5 floors. Choose between deluxe double rooms, spacious en-suites rooms, or self-contained studio flats. All the rooms have been recently refurbished and offer good quality contemporary fixtures and fittings. Every room is equipped with everything you need to sleep, rest and study. Furniture includes:

• Double or queen size bed (including mattress)
• Desk

• Wardrobe/built-in storage
• Chest of drawers
• Bedside cabinet

Your residence should offer more than just a place to rest your head at night. We created the Carr Mills residence to be a calm and relaxing space that is also suitable for socialising. Each flat shares an open plan kitchen/lounge with plenty of space to relax. Your shared lounge also benefits from a flatscreen smart TV. The secure gated complex offers large landscaped gardens to allow you to make the most of the warmer months. There are also communal BBQ areas where you can fire up the grill with your flatmates. The spacious social areas make it easier to make friends, and the active social community will allow you to make the most of your time in your new student accommodation!

Practicalities

• Large washing machines that automatically dispense soap (no need to buy washing powder!), tumble dryers and ironing facilities are available.
• Secure car parking is available on-site for just £300 per year.
• Each room has individual heating controls.
• Secure gated perimeter and 24-hour CCTV monitoring help to ensure your room is secure.
• The all-inclusive rent includes utility bills, high-speed wi-fi internet and free Endsleigh contents insurance.
• Carr Mills has the benefit of an on-site maintenance team and an easy online maintenance request form.
• Lift access to all floors makes moving in a breeze.

Facilities for those with Disabilities

At Carr Mills, we have two rooms within a ground-floor flat designed to cater to the needs of partially disabled residents. These rooms share a spacious shower room, which includes individual lockable storage for each occupant.

Please note that the rooms may not be fully suitable for full-time wheelchair users. We kindly invite you to contact our Lettings Team to discuss your specific requirements and determine whether these rooms would meet your needs. We’ll do our very best to assist and accommodate you wherever possible.

Getting around

You will be sure of a welcome at Carr Mills where you will be living in the Buslingthorpe area, historically known for its industrial past, particularly in tanning and leatherwork, the area was designated a conservation area in 2009 to protect its heritage buildings. Today, it's a diverse urban area just north of Leeds city centre - perfectly placed for student life.

Getting to uni and the city:

• Leeds Art University campuses are within easy walking distance.
• Hop on the 51 or 52 bus for a quick ride straight into the city centre — you’ll be there in under ten minutes!

Shops and essentials:

• Pick up your groceries and student essentials at Aldi or Poundstretcher in nearby Northside Retail Park.
• There’s also a Tesco Express about an 18-minute walk away for quick top-ups.

Food, drink and fun:

• The local area has loads of independent bars and real ale pubs.
• Check out East of Arcadia in Meanwood for their weekly quiz night, live music, and home-cooked meals.
• Other student favourites include The Hungry Bear and Alfred, both serving great food and a relaxed atmosphere.
